Work-life balance is all about achieving the mix of business and personal life that's right for you. We're all unique, and the term ‘personal life’ means something different to everyone. It can include spending time with your friends and family; resting; participating in hobbies; engaging in personal, spiritual or educational development; exercising; or care giving – and it can even include your work!
Work-life balance is totally subjective and only you know when your life is or isn't in balance. If you are happy spending most of your time at work, that's fine. There's no need to feel guilty about being dedicated to your job if that’s how you enjoy spending your time. No matter how much or how little you work, as long as you feel happy and balanced then there's no need to change. However, if you also want to spend time with your partner/spouse and/or family you will feel conflict and you’ll then need to look at your priorities and start making choices, and even compromises.
The key thing to remember is there is no right or wrong way to spend your time provided you, and the people you care about, are happy and fulfilled with your lives.
